This question deserves an analogy.
In 1988, Bush Sr. selected Dan Quayle as his vice-president running mate. The press immediately questioned Quayle's lack of experience, and severely criticized Bush's judgment in selecting such an unqualified person as Quayle. The criticism was not sporadic. It was a constant barrage from all media outlets. The late-night comedians were even less sympathetic. SNL suggested that the Constitution should be changed, so that succession, in case of death of the president, should be Speaker of the House, then the majority leader, then the White House butler, then the White House nanny, then the White House poodle, then Dan Quayle.
Dan Quayle served four years in the House of Representatives, and eight years in the Senate.
Palin was mayor of a hicktown with a population less than that of most community colleges, then served two years as governor of a state with a population about the same as San Francisco. (I suppose that the mayor of San Francisco could then be considered a qualified VP candidate.)
So, if Dan Quayle, with his experience, was too "inexperienced," then certainly Palin is too inexperienced. But, there is not even a peep from the media concerning Palin's qualifications. The media is giving Palin and McCain a free pass on this issue. It's pathetic. |

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. the day she was announced she stated that she had no idea what the vp does. How can you be a politician and have absolutely no idea what the vp does. she is a dumb shite. this entire election is nothing but another joke like the last 2 elections |

i don't think she has enough experience |

Definitely no. She has no experience and she's a religious freak that wants Creationism to be taught in schools, not to mention that she's pro-life. Another factor is that she has five kids, one of which suffers from Down Syndrome. |

Sarah Palin is George Bush with Lipstick.
Uses the same overly simplistic country shtick. Believes in the same reliance on force to solve problems. Doesn't believe in science. I've yet to hear her disagree with anything about Bush policy, economic, foreign, or social.
She may be technically qualified but I won't vote for her or McCain (who sold out his "maverick" credentials by choosing to follow Bush's footsteps ). |

NO, absolutely not. |

PTA mom, news anchor lady, mayor of a town with 6,000 or so citizens, and governor for less than 2 years? I'd say not. Republicans are just excited now since Hilary lost and McCain took his court to the women's side by choosing her. If it was man that was choosen and had all the same qualifications as Palin, I bet over half the country would be laughing even more. I honestly don't want a person with as little experience as she has running my country if McCain were to die- which his chances are extremly high.

anyone who thinks dinosaurs lived 4000 years ago is not qualified for much else than giving me hot sauce with my tacos when i pull up to the window. |

i live in england so i may not be in a good position to answer but from over here it looks like she is only there because she is an attractive woman. looks like mccain is hoping this will act as a counter-weight to obama being potentially the first black president.
the fact that she is a woman will help win votes from other women, and the fact that she is good looking will probably help win votes from any men who are not too bothered either way.
so to answer the question she is probably not a qualified candidate. she is not there for her political experience/ability |

No way, that is why I am voting for Ronald McDonald. He has more real executive experience then Sarah Palin. |

Not at all. I dont understand why everyone wants to say she's more qualified than Obama. Her baby has downs syndrome, and her teen daughters about to have a baby. Not to mention she's a wife and mother of 5. She'll never have time for her family. And those babies will need lots of attention. And OBAMA is for change. Not McCain. Please tell me how McCain is for change when he agrees with Bush over 90% of the time. That basically means the next 4 or 8 years will be the same as the last 8 yrs if he gets in. Its really sad that ppl wanna focus more on Obama's skin color than his plan for a better America. Its 2008... get over the race issue! If Obama was republican, most republicans would still be against him, simply because he's black. (HALF-black might I add.) |

Well, she is 35, and a natural born citizen. So, she is qualified.
Whether she is "experienced" or not, is a judgement call. |
