It has NOTHING to do with being "fair" The Law is the Law. She should serve the sentence imposed by the Judge and the Sheriff should be also jailed for obstructing Justice. |

Not true. in Califonia you can get 90 days for this and its because this was her THIRD offense that she got 45 days. Its not that freaking hard Not to Drive on a suspended license and violate probation TWICE. This is fair. |

no it's not fair. only 45 days?!?! come on...she should get a year in jail. |

yes. you have to remember, she was caught 3 times with a suspended liscense. |

Paris would have been all right had she not expressed distain for authority and shown herself above the law. The judge decided she needed a lesson. It might do her a world of good. |

She isn't the one who is stuck. She broke the law and when one breaks the law they go to jail. This still ain't over. Sheriff Baca still hasn't heard the last of this situation. |

What have you been watching? It can not be the same trial, and well covered acting by a spoiled rich girl, to which the rest of the Nation has been subjected.
Both she and the Sheriff should be doing more Jail time that 45 Days. |

Don't care about a drunk driver.
She should have done the full time PERIOD!
Anyone of us would be in jail so Paris should get the same treatment. |

She is a spoiled brat and she needs to learn that she can't buy her way out of everything. |
|

????????

"If you can't do the time, you shouldn't do the crime."
She's a spoiled-self centered narcissist who brought this on herself, either because she's a bimbo idiot, or a clever rich-brat--I am so glad to see the judge invoke his power!
Now why can't Bush use his presidential power to defeat immigration amnesty rather than support it?? |

The Judge gave Paris a fair sentence. Paris was caught disobeying the law, violating her driving probabtion to be exact. So she goes to jail. But then she can't continue to go to jail because the food is "unsanitary". Yet somehow every other convict has managed to live and not get sick from this "unsanitary" food. So she goes on house arrest. Living in her home w/ 4 bedrooms 3 baths and cable tv. Yeah, that is a "real" punishment for this crime.
For any regular person, you get caught driving and you get you license suspended and then you are caught driving again then you go to jail. It is a simple as that. Paris's actions got her into trouble, now she must face the music and go to jail. It's not that long, and she'll survive. But there have been cases where people have been extremely rude to her. Wax muesams have been featuring wax models of Paris Hilton in a black and white striped jail suit to celebrate the day she first began serving her jail sentence. And Sarah Silversmith made extremely rude comments about Paris serving jail time at the MTV movie awards, and more than half the audience clapped. And Paris was seen crying. That was unfair. But that doesn't change that fact that Paris needs to serve jail time. Her actions have consequences, and she's gotta face the music.
Actions have consequences and the consequence is a fair one. Jail is the legal punishment. |

people shouldn't be tugged around like that. whether they're paris hilton or not. the sheriff should have respected the judges ruling. |

Yes, she did the crime and needs to do the time. She can consider herself extremly lucky that she was not in the state of Nevada when she was caught drinking and driving. Here she would go directly to jail with no court appearance and serve two years in the prison at Indian Springs. They don't tolerate drinking and driving in this state.. |

A lot of it is unfair,in the Paris Hilton case. That is an Alcohol problem, in order to keep this girl sober, she should be spending more time in jail. Then the rest of her sentence should include to be attending AA meetings, in order to get help in keeping herself sober. Paris Hilton should be getting another chance at life and hopefully will be able to do some good, for humanity in the future, and for herself as well. |

im really interested in this subject and i was really rooting for paris i thought she was doing good in jail for the first 3 days if she could of kept that up i nwould never call her a *daddys lil girl* or a *brat* i would act like she i s just a normel person i dont think the punishment was right i think she should of stayed under house arrest but no one could vist her except her mom the police andher father but how ever when she comes out of jail you can bet that she wont drive drunk again HOPEFULLY |

I think it's obvious Judge Michael T. Sauer has greater ambitions than his current judicial seat. It's a shame that he's using Ms. Hilton's celebrity status to build his appeal to the common and working people. The sentence he imposed was out of line with his prior sentences for the same offense. That alone should show the "special treatment" that this case is receiving.
Judge Michael T. Sauer is on a power trip. His actions remind me of a pencil neck geek who's hiding behind a robe and gavel while picking on a lady that would never notice him in a crowd or politely smile at him in passing.
Judge Geek you have exposed yourself as a Hollywood wannabe! I hope you are remembered for how unfairly you applied your sentencing to gain fame and notoriety. |
