That would be great, but I doubt it. Most politicians - including Obama - are still refusing to consider legalization.
It makes absolutely no sense that pot is illegal while alcohol and tobacco (both of which are MORE harmful and MORE addictive) are legal.
Legalization would:
- Create thousands of jobs
- Deal a massive blow to criminal networks, which would suddenly be without a HUGE source of income
- Provide an enormous windfall for the government, which would bring in billions in taxes (ending Prohibition played a big part in getting the U.S. out of the Great Depression)
- Allow police, courts and prisons to focus their resources on DANGEROUS criminals, rather than potheads |

don't get me wrong i'd love to see it legalized but i doubt it'll happen that soon. Our president really copped out on his marijuana policy :( |

depends on your definition of legal, some states have decriminalized certain amounts, as here in Cali you can legally buy pot with just a recommendation which is basically 100 bucks to a bit of shady doctor and you can posses up to 8 ounces legally, the problem with pot is it is hard to judge how much one is under the inlfuence of it unlike alcohol, second thing is these drug cartels are paying major bucks to lobbyists in Washington to keep it illegal for the most part, I don't think it will be legal in 4 years that would be awfully quick IMO, maybe in 10 to 15 American is just now starting to get past the whole Marijuana as gateway drug, but it doesnt affect me either way I will continue to pay 100 bucks to be able smoke good pot when I want and I don't have to worry about shady dealers |

Honey, are you serious you will not see it legalized in the next 40 years.It is a drug THC is a drug no way I do not care how many pot festivals you have our legislation will never make it legal. Also as long as you smoke reefer no one will take you serious when you are wasted all the time. Been their back in the 70's and never want to go back I missed too much of life. |
