My ex boyfriend did some stupid ish on his football scholarship back in 07 him and a couple of friends decided to rob a drug dealer and he ended up pistol whipping somebody. He did it right after a game in his CCU uniform and everything i know he is a total idiot and he ruined his future. So last week the judge sentenced the two of them to 18 years in prison for first-degree burglary, 10 years for armed robbery, five years for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one year for unlawful carrying of a weapon. No parole. They were offered a plea but did not take it which i think was stupid especially since he did the crime. Anyway, can they appeal? And do you think that that was a just sentence for 2 young men who had no prior criminal records and were athletes? Needless to say the school didnt wait until the trial to dismiss them from the team they did it the second they were notified back in 07

Pistol whipping, armed robbery and a large amount of drugs is way more than stupid'ish.
An appeal first depends on if they plead guilty. Why do you think having played football makes this sentence unjust? No prior record does not mean much when a gun is involved. Being dismissed from the team was most likely because they broke their contract with the school. |
