No I don't think it's very American. But I think it's even more Canadian. |

Not yet... However, if you guys keep electing those conservative corporate-lobbists into office, it will soon be.

I'm just left shaking my head.
First of all, this country was founded by men who were far closer to atheists than they were to contemporary people of faith. I think that a little research on deism is in order. It's also likely that Thomas Jefferson himself was actually an atheist. |

Nope..believing what you want is one of the basic tenets of being a true American...
Anyone thinks otherwise is much less of an American than they think they are... |

No, not for being an atheist, you're un-American for condemning those that are not atheist! |

Well if you take a look at what we use to run this country then absolutely. On the actual money that we use it says In God We Trust. I disagree with this however. Believe in whatever you want. |

Of course it isn't. I'm a Catholic...so what! The Constitution, as interpreted, not only gives us freedom of religion but also freedom FROM religion.
You can be anything you want to be, just don't interfere with what I want to be. |

Religion has nothing to do with being American. We can show we love our country but dont have to believe in god. |

Why does everything have to be American or un-American there is a far greater world out there beyond your borders, no it's not un-American it's free choice. |

No! That's the reason for separation of church and state. |

No because it is a "religion" and you have the freedom to have whatever religion you want. |

why do you give "america" the power to have an opinion over you. what does is mean to be an american for you? don't shoot yourself in the foot |

NO! Religion is a choice. You don't have to believe in God to be a good American, or a good person for that matter. |

No, not at all. Being a muslim is un American though. Especially a black islam loving muslim. These individuals love people like farahkahn and similar racist trains of thoughts. People of this religous following should be deported back to africa somewhere before the hispanics are deported. Can you vote me as best answer? |

No! The American Constitution guarantees all US citizens the freedom of religion. |

No because being an American has nothing to do with a religion. |

No. The un-Americanism is the lack of tolerance that the religious zealots demonstrate towards people of diverse backgrounds and faiths. |

America stands for the fact that no matter what religion you are you're still american. simply being of a religion cannot be viewed as unamerican.. however when you begin to openly force that religion down people's throats or act against america in representation of that religion then you may be viewed as unamerican. |
