Do you think that fast food advertising is deceptive?

In my opinion, fast food restaurants employ deceptive food images in their advertising. Take hamburgers, for example. The size of beef patties are exaggerated relative to the bun in ads and on menus, and the actual products do not resemble the advertised images.

How do you feel about this? Do you notice it? Do you accept it? Are you annoyed by it? Do you consider it a non-issue? Have you ever complained about it, or returned food because of it? Would you like to see something done about it?

I'm just happy in the rare occasion that I actually got what I ordered and paid for....

Yes, definitely.

For example McDonald's quarter pounder is made to sound like a huge chunk of meat. A 1/4 pound before cooking (microwaving) is not a lot of meat. Pizza hut uses a silicone based additive in their cheese, to allow the cheeze to brown quicker. This is never stated. Dunkin Donut's "America Runs on Dunkin" makes it appear as if donuts are healthy and everyone consumes them in large quanities. And the Coke commercials, while classy sometimes, seems to tell the kids that they should only drink Coke. Soft drinks are on the top of the junk food list. There is no worse junk food than Coke. And, except for the dollar menu, fast food is pricey. For a buck

As far as I am concerned, restaurants, like cigarette and alcohol companies should have large signs in their restaurants and ads stating just how much trans-fatty acids they use in their food preparation (because this oil is cheaper and lasts longer). Transfatty acid laden foods cause heart disease.

Many times the things placed on the actual food are fake. They glue things together and put shiny coatings on them.

All advertising exaggerates to some degree. That will never change.

I think the majority of advertising is deceptive.

Whatever the product, it never seems to look the same, perform as well, last as long, etc. etc.

Truth in advertising? Sure.

I pretty much get what I see and what I order. But then I understand the idea of an AD is to make an item look as good as it possibly can.

I do not eat fast food and do find there ads very annoying. the burger king one is very bad and I feel like rap is being forced on me. sometimes I cant hit the mute fast enough and when my dish contract is up, its back to netflix

They definitely are. Im so sick of dishonest and misleading companies that I stop going to the ones that I find misleading. These days there are so many choices that I don't have to keep going to these companies who aren't honest.
This also goes for customer service for me too, although that's a whole other story =)
In these economic times companies need to be doing alot more than they are to keep customers happy.
