After they give birth, yes they should be, if the crime was murder. being pregnant should not be a "get out of jail free" card. |

This is a hard one one to answer. I would have to say NO. In the great debate of pro-life, an unborn child has committed NO crime against anyone. However, if they can prove that genetics can be passed on with traits (Actually doing the same thing as the parent) I would say yes. |

I dont think they can execute a pregnant woman. Besides most people are on death row for so long I dont see how a woman could be pregnant when it came time for her execution. If it did happen, they would have to wait till the baby was born. |

The problem with the death penalty is that eventually somebody who is innocent will be executed, and as this has already happened, the death penalty should be a thing of the past. Killing people just makes the state a killer too - do you really want to be like a murderer? Even DNA evidence can be planted, and with cloning technology, even falsified. I'm not saying that horrific murderers don't deserve it - just that there is too much of a chance of an innocent person being murdered by the state - then if they are found to be innocent afterwards, what do you do - say you're sorry? |

9 out of 10 times its years before they get from the guilty verdict to the exicution(mainly bc of appeals) so she would easily have the baby before hand. and it wouldnt be fair if they took her off death row because shes a mommy now bc plenty of parents have been exicuted... thats the price you pay. |

Save the baby. Execute the woman. It's not just to let a pregnant woman get away with a punishment she deserves just because she's pregnant. |

Finally, a question that has some substance. it is known, that all state laws will not let a female to receive the ultimate penalty while pregnant, and then most are commuted to life. |

Even if you are for the death penalty, it takes years for someone to be executed after being sentenced to death. Chances are that she would be a grandmother by the time she was executed, even if she was pregnant with her first child when convicted. |

yes because it takes 20 years to execute someone in this country and only 9 months for a baby to be born. the trial would still be going 9 months from the crime |

I don't believe in capital punishment, so no, I don't think anybody should be executed. With that said, however, it is known that in some countries pregnant women on death row were allowed to have their baby first before being executed. |

No because then the baby isn't given a chance and punished with the mother. The execution should wait until after the birthing of the child. |

Crude! What crime did the infant commit, why should it die. |
