ok, so Bush is an idiot. When the 1st Bush was in office, our National debt increased, Clinton came in and pulled us out, not completely, but he made an impace, then here comes another Bush, who wants to have this ridiculous war, that drags on and on, and he wants America to fund it, putting back down in the red, even more than the 1st Bush did. I say "NO More Bush" We definatly need Hillary to step in, she's a Clinton and a Woman, so she gets double credit, she'll make an awesome pres. |

I think Bush got away with so much hair raising decisions, that he feels, he is unfailable. Mussolini comes to mind. Leaders tend to surround themselves with bopping heads and it has gotten to Bush's pea sized brain, that nobody contradicts him. He will, like Reagan with Alzheimer, retire happy, with more money to spend, then a sane person could in a life time. Why would Bush really care about his image at that point, he is convinced, he is the greatest leader this world has ever seen. The problem I have is, that we have to put up with that monkey until the end of 2008 and the USA is already a laughing stock in the rest of the world. |

Republicans have to have someone to blame for all their failures!
The whole war was soley based on "junior" settling one of "dads" biggest disgraces! PERIOD!
Clearly all the lies from Washington has put credence in my theory! |

I don't think he does and that's what is soooo scary about Bush. He just doesn't get it. What's even more scary is that there is still a significant amount of Americans that are willing to believe anything that comes out of his mouth. |

This is a pattern he has had all his life, shift the blame for his failures to somebody else. He doesn't realize how bad he is at the job of running the country, but should be fired for it. Where is The Donald when we need him. . |

Its not stupid--a lot of people are buying into it, and it is scaring the Democrats away from taking real action to bring the war to a close. Bush is forcing the Democrats to abandon the war in Iraq, so he can't be blamed for losing it.
If he won't sign a bill that includes a deadline for troop withdrawal because it will give the rebels a limit for how long they have to hold on in order to win, he should set the deadline with key members of Congress behind closed doors. But he isn't willing to withdraw at all. So he'll leave it to the Democrats--they can 'abandon the soldiers' and do what the American people voted them in to do, or they can be ineffective at accomplishing the task the voters asked them to do and keep putting money into Iraq.
Bush wants a showdown to help Republican efforts in the next election. If Congress quits sending money, Bush will have to pull the troops out. It's a question of whether the Democrats are too worried about the spin that will be put on their actions in the next election to do what they have to do. Bush is exercising every bit of his executive power to stay in Iraq, and if the Democrats want to end the war under Bush's watch, the only thing they can do is use their financial power to stop funding the troops. Its a question of whether they have the guts.
And for everyone whining about the pork barrel--that is just politics as usual. If you want me to do something I don't want to, you have to do something for me. The republicans do it all the time too. Put "Bridge to Nowhere" and Alaska in your browser if you don't believe me. |

i dont get it with him. he got on tv last night and said "as soon as they bring a bill into my office i will promptly veto it because there will be no timetable for bringing the troops home. i will keep them over there" maybe if people werent such biggots,he wouldnt be in office. |

I think anyone who thinks of US citizens and voters as democrats or republicans is a 'maroon.' While these two parties bicker away, there are serious situations to deal with. Our bipartisan mindset needs to be revamped. How long are we going to keep on with this lemming mentality? With all our education, skills and communication, we can do so much better than this petty squabbling. |

The true problem with our President isn't that his is stupid, it is that he is unwilling to listen. He seems very stubborn and very very set in his ways. This is a major problem, mostly because if the leader of our nation is unwilling to listen to every side of the story and weigh every option then we are surely going to fail. The reason presidents like FDR were so successful was because they gathered all sorts of advice from every minority and majority.
Also, if Bush could express himself in a somewhat educated manner and if he actually thought about what he said then we would most definitely be better off.
He isn't stupid, just unskilled and ill fit for such a position as President of the United States. |

Bush plays the buffoon card a little too well, but I don't think even he realizes how well he really plays it.
He is ignoring several important facts:
--That the American people sent a resounding electoral message last year about changing course in Iraq (and NOT in the direction he has chosen)
--That his nonpartisan Iraq Study Group after months of laborious effort, unanimously recommended the OPPOSITE of the "new course" he has chosen.
--That the US troops THEMSELVES said last year that we were doing more harm than good in Iraq and should get out.
www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=1...
--That the Iraqis do not want us there, and that many Iraqis will not recognize the legitimacy of any government that cooperates with the invaders.
--The King of Saudi Arabia stated in an address to the Arab League last week that the US military occupation of Iraq is Illegitimate. That's a big one.
So now he tries to blame Congress for doing what they were elected to do, and putting the brakes on Bush's Arabian adventure. He doesn't have to answer to the voters again. They do. |

First, the bill bush is vetoing is the bill that will stop the founding on the war, second imagine that your mother, father, son or daughter is fighting in the war. Would you want the vital founding that is keeping them alive to stop, all troops would be killed and then were would we be? Defenseless! |

"Defunding" is not a word.
The war is already funded. Learn the language of the bill you are referring to before voicing an opinion.
In typical liberal fashion you have made an a s s of yourself by going off on something you don't fully understand. |
