Islam is overprotective of its women, but other than that, it's just another belief system. Every religion includes a few fanatics - cf. Christian fundamentalists who demand that "creation science" (an oxymoron in itself) be taught in public schools. Compare Islam to the religion that brought you the Crusades, the Inquisition and the burning of witches...wow. Tough call.

No. Islam is a religion and most of it's believers are good people with good intentions. There are some followers who have evil intentions and make bad choices. The same is true of Christianity. God loves you in spite of the hate in your heart.

Islam is not evil, but there some who use Islam as an excuse to hate. Saying that Islam is evil because of Muslim extremist is like saying Christianity is evil because of the hatred that the Aryan Nation has for all nonwhites.

No, I don't agree with you. Just like any other religion they have a lunatic fringe. Most are peace loving people. I've worked for corporations that had Muslim adherents and had no problems getting along with them. Nor do I have a problem talking with them about my religious beliefs or talking with them about theirs. I don't think any religion is bad in and of itself. The problems start when the fanatics distort it. And that has unfortunately happened with every religion at some time in history. Islam is an Abrahamic religion, and consequently has beliefs and rituals that bear strong similarities to Christianity and Judaism. I don't see anything evil in it at all.

I would hesitate to use the word evil, but there are definitely evil Moslems out there, who preach an evil brand of Islam.

But I have been disappointed in the lack of disgust from "mainstream" Muslim groups in the US. They seem to be more concerned with being targeted unfairly, than they are with the corrupt and destructive pockets of their religion.

Generally, the most fundamentalist of Christian churches are the first to condemn and distance themselves from the KKK, neo-Nazi groups, polygamist cults, and other crazies. But I don't see such an outcry from Moslems here. It makes me wonder, against all my learning and desire not to judge, whether American Moslems agree with the violence, agree with the destruction.

The religion is not at fault. Many of the adherents think of themselves as an underclass and act like it. They have very brutal histories, and do not value human life. Murder comes too easily to them and the religion should not be surprised that it is being blamed for this.

Any Muslim and specially Arab if he is defending his rights the others consider him a terrorists. When the Palestinians fight the Israelis (suicide bombers) they r considered terrorists (not the Israelis they took their lands). When Hezbollah fight the Israelis to get back their Lebanese land they r considered terrorists although they target army place and on the other hand the Israelis target civilians to force them to stop. When the Americans and British jumped into Iraq to take control over the oil and saying is to restore peace in Iraq, they r not terrorists, when foreign soldiers go into a country and steal whatever they find and rape women they r not terrorists? (Do u honestly believe that Americans care about Iraqis or anyone else?) Islam means submission to God. Muslims are harmless but this doesnâ€™t mean they should give up their rights and belongings. If someone comes and take ur house will u just watch him taking ur stuff and ur place or u will react? Here in my place, Philippines, we have around 5% of the population are Muslims. I have friends who were Muslims. I asked them about thier doctrines compared to Chrisitianity.

They said they has Christianity and it is a pleasure to kill one. So, no wonder they are the terrorists.

My friends, who were Muslims, said they do not want to be a Muslim. Their priests said to kill their enemies to gain pride and glory to Allah.

As far as I know, there is no peace in this world. As I have research about religions, Christianity is the only religion that says to love our enemies. So, instead of arguing or have war with them, Christianity should love their enemies.

I am not about to say Islam is evil or wrong, because of the very large number of Islamic believers, they can't all be wrong.

I believe Judaism, Christianity, and the Islam all preach the same message. The all preach death to infidels. Not just islam. Yes islam is a bit more blatant, but the other two are just the same. Ofcourse Christians wil flip out by my answer, but on numerous occasions, all three of these religions preach violence. So quite honestly, only fundamentalists are true to their religion. Even if it means killing. Moderates to me are fakes. They believe only what is befitting to them, and throw out the rest, or they have no idea what their canonized texts actually say. So yes Islam is evil, but so are Judaism and Christianity. And quite honestly if people dont realize it, it could be the demise of mankind, especially in a nuclear age.

By the way, if you think the wars fought over jerusalem are for any other reason than the ignorance of religion, you are sorely mistaken. The "Holy Land" needs to either be an international city, or nobodies city. Religion is violence, atleast if your not a fake, i mean moderate.

I am a Christian. That means that I believe that Christ, the son of God suffered and died for my sin and the sins of EVERYONE. This includes Muslim and even narrow minded little girls like you who thrive on hate. If you did any research you would know that most Muslims are very kind and gentle people. That is the nature of their beliefs. Radical Muslims are the minority among the religion.

If people would take the way you feel and say--abortion clinic bombers, The KU Klux Klan and any other hate group that believes that they act in the name of God, as an example of all Christians, they would believe that we, as Christians are evil.

I really think it is fundamentalism that is the problem - not just in Islam but anywhere. This is a group of people that try to change the world to fit into what they believe because they just can't get over themselves and their religiousness to accept the differences of others and take any opposition as an insult to God (or Allah or Jehovah, etc)

That means they are for the terrorists. If they support terrorism in any way, they are terrorists themselves.

Look at their demonstrations in Boston, Dearborn, Seattle..... most certainly not the actions of loyal Americans.... they are loyal to their ideology(just as communists are), not to any country. I call that SICK.
