The "HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009" ramifications are being heavily debated.
My opinion is that:
1. If you are hesitant to register your weapon
2. worried about being finger-printed
3. cannot produce a valid ID and a valid social security number
4. respect the fact that children should never have access to firearms without adult supervision.
you have no business owning or using a firearm.
Additional Details
being fnger-printed is no big deal. Some banks require a thumbprint for check cashing. I myself was fingerprinted for employment reasons. (TWIC card).
Since I never intend to create or be part of a crime scene where my prints would convict me, they can have my toe prints too.
And no ID or SS# sometimes indicates illegal citizenship or a person who is "on the lam" or living "under the radr".
This is all only my opinion.

I agree, except for #4. I think you meant to say "DON'T respect the fact that..."
If motor vehicles are registered and regulated, I see no logical basis for treating firearms any differently. (And before 20 people rush to point it out, I am well aware there is no mention of cars in the second amendment. Thank you.)
*Edit--I understand John's point, but it isn't intended to "hassle" anyone. It does provide a basis for prosecuting those criminals who have guns, but have not been caught using them. Yet.* |

All true but gun controll isn't about criminals. What liberals just won't accept is that criminals won't bother with licences.
Gun control is about harrassing law abideing people because it is only they that would bother to comply with the law what ever it is.
The kind of people you need to worry about getting guns never have bothered with forms and such. |

There is no need for me to be fingerprinted. I think it is an unreasonable invasion for them to conduct "criminal" record checks on me before I go deer hunting....
according to you i should "just submit".... i say no.
Is that so hard to understand?
