I think that we have the same problem in the US.
We imprison people who don't do anything more than smoke a little pot in thier living rooms...but we let perverts and rapists run ammuck.

Something is definitely wrong when the US throws two border patrol agents into prison for nabbing a dope smuggler with pounds of pot then offers doper amnesty and he sues US for millions. Then if someone gets caught with pot, even first offense, they get thrown in the slammer for life in some states. CRAZY indeed(not that I'm for pot). |

Now paedophiles are allowed to walk our streets putting more of our children in danger just because the prison`s are overcrowded
Well if they made prison`s so bad that people would not want to go back in them that would solve the problem

Everyone who steals without the use of violence against a person,or commits fraud or any other financial crime shouldn't be imprisoned...they should be made to work for their victims until the debt is paid..leaving more room in our prisons for violent criminals...People are more important than property. |

That is horrible. But honestly I think the world has always been screwed up. Just with the internet and media we are just noticing the full extent.

What about the bloke who listened in to Prince Williams' phone calls and he was imprisoned for 4 months!!! God, he must be really dangerous!!! And what about the pensioners who are put in prison because they don't pay their council tax. Crazy world or what? |

Well most countries look at the united states as being dumb and selfish, Bush gave us a really bad outlook by invading another country and ousting there leader. The world continues to become a violent place new enemies like terrorists the Taliban and hezzbolah. The other countries are mad that we arn't making the right decisions. The world is changing for the worse when we thought that the world would be a peace forever. It's all about power & money. it all comes down to one word JEALOUSY!!! |

Darling, I hate to admit it but it makes me feel a little better that the justice system in England is just as backward and broken as ours here in the States. These trivial little things (like the one you described) seem to have a snowball effect on everyone in the country, one after another happens and suddenly it looks like everything is going to hell in a handbasket. But in reality, despite what some would say, things today are better than they were 100 or 50 years ago. I guess I'm just trying to remind people to be thankful that they HAVE a criminal justice system, despite how broken and in need of repair it may be. |

I work for the ambulance service and we have to wait at A&E atleast 30mins for a bed - thats on a good day. This is because the bosses have closed 3 wards to improve 'patient care' - utter crap!
NYE we waited over 6hrs to hand over - now wonder where your taxes are going!!!! The U.K has gone mad. |

She was a persistant offender and fraud.. I dont take the side of the paedophile, but he was a first time offender and was 'only' downloading images..... I am not trying to lessen the seriousness of his crime, but he was not a clear and present danger to people on the street.
{and before anyone flames me, I realise that behind every picture was a process of abuse - however he was looking at pictures not commiting abuse}

yet he got 12 years in jail.

but they've put a few people away 2day, obviously contrary 2 what we've been told.
an old woman, a peace-activist & over a £50 fine!
what annoys me more is i read a month ago,
the Pitcairn Islands, which didn't have a prison.
in which 2 inter the rapists.
so they shipped all the materials there, at huge cost 2 the Tax-payer.
It must have cost millions but they can't seem 2 fulfil a simple task of building a few more here!

No the fraud is not committed against the credit card companies, but the person who's card she used. I agree, prisons should be used for violent offenders, and many people are locked up for crimes which do not need custodial offences.
Just wait till the paedophiles start campaigning for their rights to abuse children like they have in the U.S. or sadists get legal exemption to abuse their 'slaves'. The world can get a lot crazier still. |

One of my pet hates in life is money grabbing women who crave equality but screw men for financial gain. Having said that I don't think anybody should go to prison for financial crimes. It benefits know one. Better they pay back some of the money than become a burden on the state. I would like to have seen this woman paying some of the men she duped back. |

Gone Crazy... I am still waiting for signs of intelligence on this planet... So far, over the eons, this civilization has produced nothing but one nut after another and your asking if it has gone crazy... Ever since humans were put here, this planet has been nothing but an Insane Asylum, where everybody is a patient and there is no doctors... And to top it off, we have all of these liberals whining and crying about all the injustice there is. Criminals have rights? Thank the Liberals for that. Victim don't have any rights except to be a victim, with no recourse, except to wait until the criminals are caught in the act of committing a crime, even when caught on camera, on video tape, red-handed, they are called possible suspect...
