Does this woman have a right to murder her parents and should she be executed if she does?

An 18 year old woman arrives home one Friday night well past curfew and fearing punishment (which would not be corporal punishment) decides to murder her parents. This she carries out by sneaking into their bedroom while they sleep and shooting each in the head.

Afterwards she calls police and confesses claiming falsely her father had been raping her and she feared for her life because she was going to report him.

The evidence showed the parents were strict disciplinarians but were genuinely not abusive. And it was noted at 18 the woman had the right to move out of her parents house but chose not to.

Would you hang her if this was your case and why? Or if not why not?

I don't know what didn't work for the Menendez Brothers? That they weren't completely exonerated ending up a manslaughter conviction if my memory is correct. But in any case they didn't get the death penalty which was the fall back goal of their attorneys

Murdering one's parents is like one of the ultimate crimes against nature.

I would give her the death penalty for this, and typically my politics are very very liberal but murdering one's parents is just WRONG.

Furthermore, even if they WERE abusive, she had no right to kill them.

Yeah she's 100 percent guilty. I know that usually the rule is- you can use the same amount of force that is used on you. If they were sleeping- then she is a cold blooded killer who should be locked up or put down forever. Cause she is a scary scary person. If you can kill your sleeping parents- you can kill anyone! If they were so horrible and abusive to her- she could have and should have just moved out. Guilty as charged!

the death penalty is cruel cruel cruel but she should spend sevaral percent of the remander of her life in prison

I wouldn't hang her because I'm against the death penalty, but I think she should spend several decades in prison. She didn't have to murder her parents, no matter how afraid she was.

She did not have the right to murder her parents and she is guilty. I would not execute her because I believe that it is wrong, but she does deserve to spend the rest of her life in prison.
