I had been unemployed for almost 8 months, when in February I was hired by a law firm to work 9 to 5, 3 days a week. I was told that the first 30 days would be a training period and that it was to be unpaid. I was under the impression that I would get a lump sum of all those hours I worked once I reached 30 days which was the only reason I agreed. After my 30 days, I didn't get a lump sum, and I was told that I was to get 180.00 a week. After 2 weeks, I got paid a total $360.00, then told that I was an at will worker and was fired. I still have yet to receive compensation for hours worked.. There was no written paperwork, I didn't fill out an application or anything..I basically worked for free
What can I do?

Nothing.
It sounds like you were under the wrong impression. They told you that those 30 days would be unpaid and... guess what? They were.
You can't sue somebody for doing exactly what they told you they would. |

They can fire you at any time for any reason or for no reason at all.
