Wrong, wrong, oh so wrong. It is not man's decision to take another person's life. |

Me personally believe in it, if a person is in the right frame of mind first.. Anyone suffering terrible pain or has no quality of life and things are not going to get better, then yes, why shouldn't they have the choice... It should be allowed in this country.. |

Depends.
I do know that both my husband, a doctor, and my sister, a nurse in a convalescent home, are adamant that, when it is time for them to go, let them go. They see patients go through a lot of pain unnecessarily at the end. |

I think that there is no point letting someone live in pain for weeks when you know they will pass away. I think it should definetely be someones right to choose. |

As long as it is properly regulated and the person themselves ask for it, then I don,t see how it can be wrong. |

i totaly agree , with julie, what is the point in having a machine do everything for you , the turmoil, upset, the pain and suffering , i couldnt bear to see someone i cared for in that state ,the government are thincking legalising some drugs why not this, surely its more humane. i personaly dont want to live that kind off life |

Voluntary euthanasia should be allowed, providing the person concerned has made their wishes clear, but no-one else has the right to take a life for whatever reason.

I think it is right. If you let an animal suffer you would be prosecuted, so why let a human being suffer. |

Sometimes you almost want it so the person can have there wish and go in peace. |

If you have an incurable illness then why prolong the suffering |

I think most people will have the opinion that animals are put out of their misery . So why not humans . As long as it is properly regulated and the person involved is beyond help. I don't see why not. |

I think a living will where you choose for yourself is fine, however I was asked to make "a do not resus or give treatment decision" when an elderly relative was very ill....a difficult thing to do.
It broke my heart to make the choice |

If it's the wish of the person that's dying and there is no doubt about their condition it should be allowed.
I never agreed with it and thought no-one had the right to take another's life but watching a family member suffer so much before their death changed my mind. |

For an animal, if it's really suffering and has a terminal illness, it is only right to put it out of its misery. For a person, that's a sticky one for me. If I were terminal and really hurting, I think the thought would cross my mind, which is why I can't be totally against the idea. But the person should be of sound mind and first go through some counseling. |

Everyone has a right to do as they please with their life and if that means taking ones own life, then ok. But they should never ask anyone to help them take their own life, or ask someone to help them make that kind of decision.
Personally, I think in 50% of cases, it would be a cop out. I guess it all depends on the amount of pain or anguish a person is going through. |
