Explain to me how you can be Christian and a Bush Republican?

all presidents have lied..... I am a Christian, I am a republican, I stood in line 4 hrs to vote last election.... I regret it..... While I still think that Bush was better than the other option we had.... based on my Christianity, I made the better choice. I am anti abortion, I don't believe in gay marriage, I think if someone commits murder they should fry..... Bush agrees with those.... yes, he lied... he admitted he lied..... just like 75% of the presidents before him..... As far as your Jesus question.... regarding poverty, it is God's teaching that you work for your food. It is God's teaching that if you are unable to work (not because of lazyness) it is the church's responsibility to take care of you. It seems to me you are NOT very familiar with the Bible... try reading it some time.... you might come across something good

Being a republican does not mean that I agree with everything Bush does. However, being an American means that I support the person in power and respect that position. Religion and politics are two subjects that many people shy away from due to the controversy...i.e. your comments. You are entitled to your beliefs and your opinions, however look at who we had to choose from if Bush had not been elected to office. What a cluster THAT would have been! We expect our leaders to be perfect and make no mistakes, but are you forgetting the lying man in office last time????? Seems like democrats fair no better.

Name me one person in Washington who has no lied at one time or another, As far as the bible is concerned,why do you use it only against the Republicans & Bush.Bill forbid goverment workers from putting their bibles on their desk because someone may be offended. Bill fought goverment money going to help the poor through churches.( who do a better job then the goverment).At least GW does not sellthe White House rooms to the highrst bidder. GW allows his friends to stay for free.

You are correct. Bush, like lots of conservatives, have strayed from the teachings of Jesus and instead insist upon the consolidation of wealth and power while judging others who don't share their ideas. It's sad, really, that these type of false prophets have hijacked Christianity.

You do also realize that bush has given more aid to Africa than any other President in history. Including your dear sweet Bill Clinton. By the way I am not a christian or a Bush supporter, in fact Bush is way to Liberal for my liking. Way to much money spent as far as I'm concerned. - Bush never claimed a connection between Iraq and 9/11. Go back and listen to his speeches, don't believe the lies on TV.
- WMD were there, listen to the news.
- Jesus said "turn the other cheek", he never directly addressed war. However, the old testament has many references of God telling people to go to war. I imainge Jesus would probably oppose war, however, he was perfect and never had children. All of us are not perfect, and I'd go to war to protect my children.
- Bush never admitted torture, he admitted interogations.
- Poverty is not at it's highest. You are grossly misinformed.
- There have been no cuts, again, you are misinformed.
- The Bible tells us as individuals to help the needy. The government should not have anything to do with charity. Bush gave almost 20% of his income to charity. Kerry gave 1%.

- You are grossly misinformed. Bush has not lied, you have been lied to. Stop listening to people that hate him on TV, they will never give you the truth. Do the research and find the truth. Listen to his speeches instead of reading the headlines.

- He's not perfect, but you don't have to be to be Christian. Just like being an American. You can be a good American, or a bad American, and still be American.

It's called being a hypocrite. There isn't any support from Jesus for the actions of the president and his associates. He's one of those figures who got authority because the people who follow him just have to have something to believe in.

We don't act to impeach because we just wanted to impeach the last president and trying that again would just make the nation look bad. Or look worse because we already look bad as it is. I believe we as a group get ourselves into these situations because as a whole we have no power. These kinds of things don't work on individual opinions. And the mob rule now is controlled by money. If on average we didn't believe that everyone was fat and happy but dysfunctional, the common culture would be one ready for revolution. I think the general public is bogged down by scare tactics including red tape.

In my opinion George W. is the real terrorist. When it was time for reelection there was word of another attack against the nation. There has been the issues of being on alert for the past six years. There are even more commercials about products to fight depression and anxiety. It's like we are still rolling along on the train of the 50's except civil liberties are for people who can afford them.

It's going to stay a sad world until people wake up and take action.

How many times do people need to be told. We did not go to Iraq because of 9/11. He didn't finally admit anything, so quit your lying. He never put the two together. I didn't finish the rest because I am sure it is just more of same crap that has been whined about over and over. Just because you say it, it sure the heck don't make it true. The truth does not hurt, you should try it sometime.
