Fight a stop sign violation on video?

I got pulled over last week for stop sign violation. The cop gave me a citation that said "disregarding stopsign (on video) ". I don't remember any stop signs so I went back to the street today and there was no stop sign on that street. Can I request a copy of the video? Should I go to court?
Additional Details
On the citation slip the location the cop filled out was two streets that are parallel to each other. How can I run a stop sign when the two street ever cross? Can I request to see the video before I go to court to make sure the cop was wrong?

The citation should state specifically where the stop sign is located, exactly which direction you were going, and which street you were on at the time. If it doesn't have that information then the ticket can be tossed by the judge.

If it was caught on video you will receive a notice in the mail informing you of the violation, the cost of the fine, and a link to the video so you can view it yourself.

What you decide to do about it is up to you. Gather up the facts and make a decision.

On the ticket there is an option to fight the ticket (get a hearing/court date). Dont pay the ticket. Instead mail it back checking off that you want a court date to be heard.
Take a camera down to where you got the ticket and take SEVERAL pictures showing there is no stop sign (if there is a stop LINE on the road that counts as a stop sign).
