Filing Workman's comp while injured at work?

I was "injured" in a course of several months at my work, now the Doctor has but me on light duties and since these restrictions were given to me my employer has given me 10 hrs every 2 weeks as a cashier when i usually worked anywhere from 35 to 40 hrs every 2weeks as a backroom supervisor. My work consisted of supervising 3 to 5 people in the back room and had me walking all over the store from 4am to 1pm with a 30 min lunch an 2 15 min breaks. Should i file workman's comp and get back pay in order to help my cost of living since it wasn't met during this period and also help me pay for my insurance. My injury was incurred in a course of 2 months, Achilles heel-tendon, since i wasn't used to walking that much , went from working in an office for more the 10 yrs to actually manual labor in this new store. My HR in my work has already been given me the cold shoulder and there are talks about putting in a replacement for my position, should i file for workman's comp an risk getting alienated at work?

If you can deal with the stares and negative attitudes at work, then file the comp case. It's always good to have your injury medical needs covered by their carrier.
