From which age onwards are we responsible for our actions?

18 is the legal age. Personally we are responsible for our actions as a much younger age. So it would depend on the action. For example a 4 year old should be potty trained. By that age the child is old enough to definitely understand training.

technically, whenever you have the ability to think for yourself

Since we were born. Because if we do somthing good no matter what age we are, we will be rewarded. BUt, if we do somthing bad, our parents will teach us that what we did was wrong no matter what age.

for me, it doesn't matter what age people are. 4, 18, 30 even 70, we are all responsible for our own actions. people have to make themselves accountable and liable for everything we do and say, these days

In the UK the legal age for responsibility for criminal actions is 10 years old.

over the age of 10, children are expected to know the difference between right and wrong and can be punished in the eyes of the law!! xx

If you mean in the eyes of the law, it's 8 in Scotland. I think it's 12 in England and Wales, but government are looking to increase this to 16 in England and Wales. As far as I know it's to remain at 8 in Scotland.

For me, five years old, when I made a conscious effort to keep from stepping on a small bug. Even today at sixty-three I will make an effort to remove a spider to a quieter part of our home (instead of inside the bathtub, which must be like being stuck in the Saraha Desert for the little spider!) or place an earwig outside from under an opened screen. It only takes a second to save a life. - C.

We're always responsible for our actions. At what age should there be legal consequences is another question.

Legally it's 18. However, for somethings the age is dropping. Which accounts for why some teens are being charged as adults for violent crimes.

In the UK the age at which you are legally responsible for our actions is 10!!!!!

my children know right from wrong and have done from a very early age (about 4) as soon as they are able to understand this i feel they are responsible for their actions and should then be taught what can happen if they do wrong (whatever the incident is) - If you are taking from a legal point of view then i believe you cannnot go to jail until you are 18 (criminally insane it is younger - because they go to a secured unit)

U.S. law states at age of majority, which is 18.

we are legally responsible for our actions at the age of 18, but morally we are responsible for an action as soon as we know if it is right or wrong

Everyone says 18, but I think it's as soon as a child is able to realize right from wrong.

We are always accountable to someone. From zero to 17 yrs., your family is responsible, at 18 you're on your own.

I don't think there is a specific black and white age. Many youth under 18 are tried as adults as an example. From a legal stand point I understand the need for a set age such as 18, but I think people should be held accountable in a moral sense when they are able to distinguish between right and wrong. Some people learn and develop faster than others, some have diasabilities and struggle with ethics their whole lives.

Age of consent 16---18 depending on the state. Over 18 "of age" and has certain priviliges as well as responsibilities.

As a Parent you should (although most don't,) be responsible for you,re actions when you start school that is where you will be on you"re own and you should behave accordingly, to where you are but , who knows, when a person is willing to be, and accept responsibilty for what ever they do?.

In England and Wales the age of criminal responsiblity is 10. In Scotland I believe it is 8. There is also talk of increasing this in England & Wales to 14.

Hope this helps.

just more as we age.

maybe a percentage like 20 years old, 20% responsible
