Not at all... well, at least not for what it was intended.
There are many accounts where drug dealers and minor criminals were busted under the expanded powers of the Patriot Act, but there is not ONE example of where a 'terrorist group' was broken up because of it....if there is, I'm waiting for someone to enlighten me. And not to mention some actions by our own govt are terrorist by nature; stripping the liberties that our soldiers are supposedly fighting to defend.
If anything, it is intended to spy on the American people and curb public dissent. Which is in line with what the DHS is doing now...

Effective.................................. don't think so. It's more like the eye in the sky is watching you. It is an invasion of privacy and I think it should end. They(gov., & police) use it to spy on Americans at their leisure. Not right ..... not fair........ I'm tired ot it. What is this world coming to? A dang camera on every street corner and on every stop light. Next they will hook up something that they can watch you in your own home. If people don't say or do anything to stand up for their rights as an American citizen, the gov., will continue to run our lives.... sad but true................ |

Which part of the Partiot Act are you talking about? There are 14 different sections to the Act that each covers a different aspect of government.
Overall - I would say that the Act has done a fairly good job of achieving its stated goals. |

Agree with its politics or not, but the patriot act was made to give power to help keep things safe. It accomplished its stated purpose so far. |
