How long were you supposed to do community service? |

idk. Just keep yourself out of trouble. And DON't write in all caps, it's disrespectful. |

It just depends what it was for. You should just turn yourself in now before it gets worse. You will go for less time if you turn yourself in rather than them coming to find you and taking you away. |

Well, you are making a pretty messy bed for yourself.
I suggest that you call the court and ask them for help and see if you can begin your community service hours immediately. Since you already have a warrant out for your arrest, it is better if you turn yourself in than have them hunt you down.
The reason for your original arrest and sentence will probably dictate your penalty.
Get yourself straightened out and start your life moving forward. |

go down to your local police station and ask. I'm sure you'll get an answer there. |

Community service in FL is given in lieu of jail time under the impression that you might be a first time offender and you don't want to go to jail. When you went to court or through diversion you were told what your sentence would be or how much service you'd be required to do. You will probably sentenced to the minimum guideline for the crime unless it was drug crime and judges tend to be a little harder on those and can max the sentence. If you behave in jail you can earn time, get good time etc, but probably will do it least 1/3 to 1/2 of the sentence. Be thankful the elections are over because nobody wants to appear soft at election time.

Without knowing anything about your case, where you live, or anything, no one can tell you.
I suspect you will find out soon enough though. |

Read the court order. It should specify what the condictions of your punishment is in lieu of community service. My suggestion is to contact the court, probation officer, or community service organization to see whether you can do the service now.
Was it really worth the agony? |

Hi I had a friend arrested for failure to do community service. He was supposed to have done it for his first DUI. He was sentenced to one year in jail.License revoked for 1 yr.He served 8 months.
He would have been better off to have done community service.
Georgia judge was POed that he skipped it. |

It's hard to say, because I don't know any details. If you are in a large city, then you will probably only be locked up for a few hours or less. Often, they will just set another court date for you and send you on your way. If you are in a smaller, less crowded area, then they might hold you until the judge sees you, but more than likely they won't unless you have a history of missing court appearances. Either way, once you see the judge, you will, in all likelihood, be given another chance to do your community service. They don't want to keep you, and they're used to people screwing up. The sooner you get this taken care of the better. Also, they are more likely to be hard on you if they have to come get you. Turn yourself in. Judges and police take that in to consideration, even if they say they don't. |

My freind had the same problem and he avoided jail. Heres what will happen. You will have to get a lawyer and have him schedule a new court date after you appear for the warrant. Then the lawyer will get you 2 years probation instead of jail. My freind only had to do 6 months of the two years and that was it. You will be fine but i reccomend you get a lawyer |
