At this point I understand that the child is simply a tourist in Britain with the consent of his parent and his government.
Madonna cannot reasonably expect to qualify under UK law for inter-country adoption in any reasonable or practicable time. Her lawyers are looking to other countries for that, principally various US states. She'll re-establish residence there (she is already domiciled in a US state under English law and she is a US citizen; under US law she is domiciled in England but that will change as soon as she returns to one of her US homes and says she will "stay indefinitely".
Meanwhile she can continue to bring the child to the UK for 182 days a year without immigration or adoption law issues arising. And once she has a US adoption order she can almost certainly have it honoured in the UK since there is a common citizenship: the child will automatically become a US citizen under the new child adoption rules there.
Buying and selling of adoptive babies is quite common in the USA, especially in the anti-abortion Southern states -- and South Dakota. |

I think it is appallling.... Why can't she just sponsor the family, and then the child will benefit as his family will be able to support the child. The child's father is still alive.... What about all the other poor orphans out there? It is ****** up! And she is a spoilt brat herself... just because we the public buy her music, she has got rich.. fair enough, but don't go about taking children away from their parents and bringing them into a foreign environment...Surely it would be better for the child to remain with his family and they receive charitable donations from Madonna to enable the family to clothe, feed and educate him.... If she wants to see the child, she can afford the air fares out there every 3 - 4 months to check up on his progress! |

I think any abuse of our hospitality is the least concerning aspect of this story. |

Madonna is trying to play at being a God. She should just help the orphanage and then leave it be. |

Whats up with you miserable lot ?do you begrudge the lad a good home and free from starvation, money in his pocket later, and of course a good education, she is going to pay so whats the problem.LEAVE HER ALONE. |

Why does she have to go to Africa and get a black child, does this make her/them appear more stylish? Doesn't that child have enough problems without his rich white parents using him as a pawn to prove they are too cool? It was reported she alone was worth $550 million. She could start and staff and supply many orphanages for that world wide, why is that not asked or publicized? |

i think she should have helped to keep him with his father not taken him away to another country, she is only thinking about herself. after all she did have a song called material girl, |

It's not a question of abusing British hospitality, it's an issue of not playing by the rules in Malawi because she is rich. If she really cared about the boy she could have sponsored him and let him live with his father. |

Why didn't she just slip the father a few grand. At least it wouldn't have ended up in a despotic leaders bank account. |

I think the main point is missed what was the best thing for this child leave him in poverty without a mother or give him the chance of a new life with a family there are certain questions that need addressing 1. why go to malawi was there no child in this country she could have adopted 2. would she have been accepted. 3. now this child is to be brought up either in the UK. or the USA will madonna tell the child of his background |

I think not, for two reasons:
1. Her husband Guy Ritchie is British, and surely has the same rights of adopting a foreign child that many others have done.
2. It's quite obvious that this child will not be on the dole or clogging the queus at National Health. I'm quite confident the parents will be providing the best of private care at their own expense. |

What on earth are you talking about?
As long as she does not break the law then it is none of your business what she does.
I wonder how many people who all of a sudden care about the fate of this child gave a stuff about the children of Malawi before.
I doubt whether the child has been kidnapped from the father. Has the media bothered to ask him what he thinks? I doubt it, but I bet you that the child's father wants his son to have access to a good education and healthcare. |

no. she can give that child the love and future just the same as angelina jolie gives to her adopted child. i say good for her for taking this child out of poverty |

Well, thank you for asking the question but I wonder why you asked such a question. Is it because you are racist or you just want to hear how other people feel about this?
I dont see why this issue has to raise so many eyebrows as if he is the first person to be adopted. Is it because the poor guy is African? Its a shame if someone feels that Africans dont need to adopted by Britons. I dont see anything that is so special about this Britain, its like any other country. Why do some of you guys act as if there are no Britons living in other countries.
Im deeply offended by some of the answers because Im African and I dont see any reason why some people think that Africans are cursed. Is it because we are black? We are people just like anyone else, and you specifically. We have the same capabilities in everything as you guys and some us even exceed you.
Race is just a skin colour. Being black, white, indian or chinese does not make us different. After all we all have the same red blood. There is nothing wrong done by Madonna. If you dont like the like kid, do yourself a favour by accepting the fact that he is now in your country. There is nothing you can possibly do about it. Stuff the idea down your throat and enjoy it!!! |

umm ur dillusional. She pays as much tax as thousand of "you". She get special attention to what she wants. youre also giving a sort of racist question. you want the world to be safe? Start with the fact that you should understand other cultures. |

No, she'll more than adequately provide materially for this baby. as for his emotional needs - well only less well off people need to prove that they can provide emotionally for the children they want to adopt. Maybe you can buy that too, but I doubt it. |
