She should. She had nothing to do with the killings, and however stupid she was to have agreed to his demands for an alibi, she confessed in the end.
There are some people who truly do relish the idea of killing other people, often in horrific ways, as a quick scroll through the replies to this question will show.
The ONLY difference between them and Ian Huntley is in the choice of victims. By focussing their killing fantasies on the likes of Maxine Carr, they can revel in violence fantasies without being troubled by the moral repugnance of their own consciences.
EDIT

Shame that Holly and Jessica can't do that though |

No she should rot in hell along with Ian Huntley. They are both as guilty as each other. |

She was never involved in the crime as at the time she was clubbing with her bit on the side.
Her mistake was lying to the police trying to cover for for her then boyfriend even though she was taking his word and lying for him.
It didn't work well though as police had him in a matter of days.
As for her right to rebuild her life? I don't feel any sympathy for her what so ever. Her best bet it move abroad if she wants any life as the Brit public will despise her. |

I think not, ask Holly and Jessica's parents what they think.... |

She should get her just deserts. |

Not not really I don't think she can, nor should she, expect to live in peace while she stays in this country and people know who she is.
And I don't think she should be aloowed to change her identity. She made her choice, a stupid one, but her choice, now she has to deal with it.
That is my opinion anyway |

Any possibility you just asked this question to get a reaction?
Well done... you are now officially a complete tosspot.
Incidentally, she got a new identity because so many people made death threats against her she'd probably be dead by now if she hadn't.
And in this country you don't get a long term in jail for lying in court which, when you actually get some perspective on it, was all she did. |

No, she will never suffer enough. Holly and Jessica lost their lives and their parents have had to bury a child each,no parent should go through that. She should still be in prison as she was covering up Huntleys crime so she is just as guilty, she got off lightly. |

No she hasn't, and I agree with the person that said Holly and Jessica will never be able to.
Also why should she be given a new identity in order that she can get on with her life.
I say bring back hanging. She should never have been allowed out of prison. She's just as bad as Huntley. |

The photo of those 2 girls... taken like an hour before they met the hands of Huntley........ really really makes me sad.

Everything to look forward to....... only to trust Huntley and tricked in to his house. Carr should feel absolute guilt for her part in it...... she should have been forced to move from the UK to another country. |

What about the parents and extended families and friendsof Holly and Jessica?? They still suffer a loss which cannot be made up. Why should someone who has been complicit in murder be allowed to rebuild their life when they have shattered the lives of so many around them? |

That depends on whether you see the penal system as a tool of justice or a means of revenge. I think that in this country the system is geared more toward revenge. |

How do you know she hasn't been able to rebuild her life?
Do you know where she is?
She could well be living it up abroad and having a great time. |
