Kids throwing snow balls at each other is harmless fun,But not at cars. |

Did you forget to mention the part about throwing snowballs AT a moving car? There is a huge distinction and if a child (or an adult) is throwing snowballs (or rocks or anything else) at a moving vehicle, I would expect the police to take steps to stop that. |

Yesterday, when I left work, kids were throwing snowballs at moving cars which can be dangerous. I think the poilce should caution them for that but not for having a snowball fight with each other. |

As long as the kids are just throwing snowballs at each other - fine. If they're chucking them at moving vehicles or at elderly people, women with small kids or disabled people - not fine. |

Good thing too. Knowing kids these days the snowballs probably had rocks hidden in them. As usual of course the police have to waste their time on this, when it should have been the parents keeping an eye on the kids. |

I think its good imagine somebody driving, especially women drivers they can only drive straight, then out comes a snow ball hits the windscreen, very dangerous. Well done police, arrest these kids. They might even have hidden knives in these snow balls. |

Well, if it's against the law and they are damaging things - then the cops are doing their jobs.
Perhaps they should arrest the parents for not raising their children to be better behaved.
If some little monster damages my car with a snowball, the police arresting him would be the least of his worries. |

They are talking about people, including children who are acting irresponsibly, not children having fun responsibly.
Read the article, not just the headline and first paragraph.
Their point is that if you are having a snowball fight at the side of a busy street and your snowballs are hitting cars, buildings or people walking by, you could face charges.
I doubt they will arrest anyone having a fun snowball fight in a safe place, say a park or someones own backyard. |

Sure it is all about throwing snowballs at cars. Not a bunch of kids just throwing snowballs in a field.
I have lived in a bunch of places such as the US, UK, Germany and Sweden where they arrest you for throwing snowballs at cars.
The driver could be startled or it could take their attention away from driving if only for a split second. There can be an accident meaning property damage, insurance and all of that.
Near where I live now (US) a few years ago some kids were winging snowballs across the street from each other. One hit a car, the diver swerved (snow equals wet road). The driver hit one of the kids and the kid was crippled. But the driver herself slammed into a tree and later died. And this was a low speed thing.
On a lower level one snowball can make quite a ding on a car. With fixing that and a total paint job (so the paint matches all), rental car, time off of work to deal with it and and such it adds up to quite a sum. Lets see what a parent has to say when they get that bill.
Again all kids have to do is be smart about it. The police are not going to arrest those who are just throwing snowballs at each other away from traffic. |

Did you read it at all or just look at the headline and make assumptions? It says they are cracking down on kids throwing snowballs at CARS and DAMAGING them.
You think just cause they are having fun who cares what they destroy? If it were YOUR car wouldn't you want who did it punished?
And what of the ones throwing them at MOVING cars? thats ILLEGAL, so just cause they are kids having fun who cares if they cause an accident that hurts or kills someone. they are just kids, right?
Perhaps you should read all of what your talking about, and think before you say something stupid. |

It's a joke!, what is the world coming to when you get arrested for a snowball fight?. A peice of snow?, it upsets me when people do these unbelivable stupid things!!!!!!. |

They are there to prevent anything that could cause an accident - if they are throwing gravel covered in snow it is actually quite serious. |

5 youths today, threw snowballs at a lorry and the driver crashed the vehicle into a wall and had to be taken to hospital. Maybe the arrest was a bit harsh in the story, but this incident could have been worse, the driver or a member of the public could have been killed. So snowballs are fun in the right environment I think, don't you? |

Snowballs? That sounds like a innocent little game, who could that hurt?
What is a snowball? You scoop up a handful of nice soft snow and shape it like a base ball.
By the time you find a car to throw at it's like a lump of solid ice , not very funny . |

The person/s who wrote that law must of had a snowball thrown at them when they were at school years and years ago and now they suffer a psycological extreme fear of snow and thought that if they had ever got into power somehow they would put a stop to that..... Come on ... how effing ridiculous ???? Imagine your kids having a criminal offence for that ... |
