Paper Question =
Bob bought a DVD/CD player, but asked an ssistant first if they would be compatible with his stereo system, she assured him they would be. When he got home and tried them he found they would not work, he phoned the helpline and went through a few details, and they told him that the stereo was not compatible with his system. two days later a letter arrived with an oprder he placed for some pans, stating that since he received advice form an assistant, they will not exchange or refund his money.
Can you please tell me what are his consumer rights are, identifying the specific laws that will be used to argue his points .
