How can I pay & get internet when previous tenant did not disconnect?

I bought a house and called to cancel the cable since it was still connected from the previous tenant and we were doing some remodeling before I completely moved in. After the remodeling was over and I moved in, plugged in the TV and found out the cable had not been disconnected. How do I go about starting a cable account and adding internet without getting accused of "stealing" cable service?

If you can't get in touch with the previous tenant, go to your cable company with your current contract that will prove that you're the current tenant and not whoever had the connection with them, and get them to disconnect the previous one and/or transfer the service to your name. |

Call them and let them know that you moved in and it still on, they must be still running up a tab but on home. The guy is a dumb *** for not disconnecting it him self. They should be pretty cool about if you tell them your situation. |

well, using this internet that you have, email them, contact them, or go to the store. if your afraid ur going to get accused of stealing cable, go to a library or an internet cafe. email them about this. try calling them. or go to (example) rogers, and explain. theyre definetly going to help you out. schedule an appointment asap. |
