How can i stop my neighbour opposite throwing his cig end in our street and on our drive?

give them back to him via his letter box, of film him and hand the evidence in to the authorities and get him fined for litter dropping

i'm sure if you could you have approached this man about this you would have, the fact that you've posted a question here tells me your not going to confront him, so i doubt that there is anything you can do.

Is it really worth worrying about? Why not make friends with the bloke, just say hello when you pass him, rather than search for something minor to complain about?

Have you witnessed him throw his cigarette ends onto your drive? Has any hit your car?

If you haven't then there really isn't a lot you can do about it. Any cigarette ends could've rolled into your drive through various reasons - a gust of wind even.

If he is deliberately targeting your drive or car with his 'cig ends' then try and gain evidence of him doing it - photos or a camcorder.

I'd do this over a period of days or weeks. Then one day while he is out on his drive approach him and ask him politely if he could find somewhere else to dispose of his 'cig ends' since they keep ending up on your drive.

After this, if he persists then report him and use all the evidence you have on him - but I think you may have to confront him first.

It's not YOUR street!!! Ask him politely to please pick them up if they land in your drive. If he does not comply, a lawyer will usually send him a letter for around $50. Or you might try asking the local police what to do. Just remember; you have no right to tell anyone what to do regarding any property that is publicly owned. i have a kid in my neighborhood doing that, he comes down to ourcul de sac to smoke and hide from his parents and yaps on the cell phone...i put a spot light on him and it stopped.

call the police, it's called littering and he can get a fine for doing that.If it catches something on fire he can be charged with arson.That will stop him in a hurry.

You can file a complaint with your local police department, but I doubt you will get any satisfaction.

I like the giving them back to him idea. Someone else on YA made that suggestion about the neighbor letting his dog poop on the lawn and said it worked like a charm.
In some places I know it is illegal to throw them from a moving car but I dont know if they are considered littering. You could go talk to him and say that the debris in the street and on your driveway is annoying, and to please invest in a coffee can or something. I wouldnt call the cops until you try to talk to him hourself- you dont want to start bad blood between neighbors.
