How can i sue a apt manager for battery?

i was over at my mother in laws apt. we were outside talking, then the manager came over and he said "you better be quite, don't make me come back" i said okay go ahead and come back. after that he attacked everyone who was outside. 3 of my family members got hurt he hit people over the head with a bottle, police got called and paramedics.
now, im telling my mother in law to sue the manager, i also want to sue so what do i do?? any help would be great!! thank you...

1. File a police report against the manager. (a must)
2. Get in touch with a civil trial lawyer and bring a civil law suit against him.
