How do I go about 'divorcing' my own mother?

I need to know what I need to do to legally divorce my own mother. Yes, I thought long and hard about this and now I just want a divorce from her. I have a wonderful dad and 2 awesome grandparents that are good to me. She is crap and I want a divorce from her. Please, any help is appreciated. I'm 29 yrs old. Thank you!

Mr.Samsa
There is no legal vehicle available for an adult to "divorce" somebody they're not married to. Remove her from your will, trust, or any death benefit agreements, and then write her a sternly-worded letter that you don't want to see her ever again. If she harasses you, you can file for a restraining order against her.

Since you are an adult she has no legal relationship with you anymore. As such there is no legal process to 'divorce' her as there is no legal relationship to terminate.

wizjp
you are 29.

Ignore her.

You are 29. WALK AWAY! You do not need to do anything as you have no legal attachment to her after 18.

John Holmes
just get a restraining order against her and then stay away

some states allow children to get an emancipation. lady at work had one she was from Washington State and explained it to us one day.
so see if that is a viable option.

good luck.

If you're 29 years old, and all wrapped around the axle on your mother, to the point of wanting to 'divorce' her...then you have some problems of your own. Stay away from her, tell her that you want nothing more to do with her, and that is about all there is to it...except getting some counseling for yourself..
