I have three children, aged 24, 15 and 12. The 15 and 12 year old live with me and their mother. My wife and I made the decision to disown our son after he was arrested and convicted for possession of marijuana when he was 19. Now he has terminal cancer and would like to see us again, especially his brother and sister. They also want to see him before he dies, but we told them they aren't allowed to see him and that he isn't part of our family anymore. The problem is that the 15 year old has been in contact with his ex-brother via Facebook and is planning to visit him in hospital. I am looking for advice on legal ways to prevent this happening. For example, if I filed a restraining order against my ex-son, then I could tell my 15 year old that if he visits him, his ex-brother will spend his final months of life in prison and it would be my 15 year old's fault. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I dont know why on earth you wouldnt want them to say their goodbyes. Quit thinking for them and let them make that decision for themselves. All kids need direction, but that is a little too far. You cannot strip them of their feelings. |

All I can say is wow.... First being a mother myself if I was to disown one of my kids which i wouldnt not for same damn weed at that. But if I did well let me be the first mother to tell you if that said child that i disowned was dying my maternal instincs would kick in and i would be going there to see him myself and i would let his siblings go with me weather you agreed or not on it. You sir have no heart. |
