How do people in jail pay their monthly bills?

If you mean for example a person gets arrested and put in jail or prison, and he still owns a home, a car, etc, that is sitting unoccopied or his wife is living there, etc, then it will have to be up to someone else to make mortgage payments, car payments, etc, because he has no income in jail. Consequently many who serve a long time in jail, and who on the outside had debts to be paid on a regular basis, are not able to pay. The debts go to collection, which cant be paid, then credit is messed up, and if he owned a house, it may go to foreclosure, and all sorts of bad things can happen. That's just the reality of suddenly going from freedom to incarceration.

they dont thats why they have interest rate. i the rates might be defferred until the person is released, but they still expect to get paid.

Usually they can't. Unless they have someone outside to pay them or take from their savings. Which is why throwing a parent in jail for non-payment of child support doesn't make a lot of sense. They can't work, they can't pay.

I don't think people in jail put their monthly bills at the top of their priority list.

they don't. If you are talking about pre existing bills, those would either be paid for by someone taking care of their affairs while they were in, or they would just lose what ever it is they are paying for. (home, car etc.. assuming they had them to begin with). Other than that I can't imagine them having any personal bills. Taxes pay for food, etc...

They don't have bills in jail. Usually if someone is going to jail they either leave it up to their family to take care of their possesions and house or they do it before they go if they are lucky enough to get bail. All of the people I have know that go to jail are bumbs that live with their parents and don't have anything anyway.

It is possible to get a job and save money while in prison to pay bills that are owed whne they get out, but it is only like .05 cents and hour and it is a privledge to work in prison and comes with good behavior.

What bills? They're in jail. They don't have cable or a phone or even, in most states, child support.

They don't, unless they have people on the outside to handle thier affairs.

People in jail don't really have monthly bills to pay if they've been in jail forever or so. If they're going to be in there a long time the authorities will pack up all of their personal belongings and bring them to family and cancel all things like electricity, plumbing, etc. or something like that. I don't know exactly how they do it.

If they work they get paid, and unless he/she is family I strongly recommend that you do not ever send money to a prisoner. Because 99% of the time its a con for prisoner to trick you out of some cash for drugs or to support other bad habits, also remember this they never get to open their own mail. so there is a chance someone else will get the money. And remember they live by the con.......... So unless they are a family member forget it......................................... P.S. also remember this if they are family send money orders in their name only................. Also their is no such thing as a monthly bill that is A lie and it will always be a lie. For several years I worked as a psychology Councilor For my states DEPT. OF CORRECTION.
And they were full of tricks and cons and are very very seldom honest.....................................

we as taxpayers pay them to eat etc in there but they don't pay their bills they may get allowance for past things but in general they don't pay but they get allowance in prison
