Something that many people do not realize is, most criminals would rather be killed than to spend life in prison. But it is the Iraqis' decision to hang him. |

Im opposed to the death penalty but in this case I'll make an exception as his guilt is beyond doubt and to remove him as a focus for the insurgency. |

I think he should be hung. I think if we did that in the U.S. it would cut down crime by 120%.
I realize people say they would be rather be put to death than sit in a cell forever. BUT, don't kid yourself. No one likes to think about their own hanging. No matter how minor the hope is to get out of prison, they always entertain the thought of an appeal or something to get them back out in the street.
If hanging satisfies someones need to become a martyr, so be it. As long as that person is dead and can no longer be on this planet, that is fine with me. |

"our" duty? This was the sentence of an Iraqi court.
How do I "feel"? I don't really care that Saddam is being hanged. He fully earned the punishment. |

First of all, WE are not the ones who tried him, or sentenced him to death. This is why we are there, to help the Iraqis form their own democracy. Personally, I have never really made up my mind about the death penalty, but I think that if anything, THIS is the type of case where it really is justified. |

I really didn't care one way or another, until I saw a slideshow today on MSN about the atrocities he's committed. Now I hope it's slow and painful for him. |

Death is a natural part of life, and worms gotta eat. The sooner they're feeding on this worthless waste of skin, the better. |

I watched a story about his life on the Discovery Channel and it was pretty interesting. I remember this one part that he was talking to his nation outside (it was black & white film) and he started calling out names and he called about 50 names out and little did they know when they went back there, they were in front of a firing squad. He was evil. So really, I don't care what they do with him. They ought to let the families of the people he killed or had killed vote on what they ought to do with him. |

I say don't hang him. Put him in a box and concrete it with a little hole. Feed him salad. Just kidding, I don't care. |

Maybe we can get our troops home sooner once it's over and done with! |

After all that he did to people that trusted him to lead their country he deserved to die. I personally think that the death was too quick and humane. |

Not really..Iraq wont be better in parts..but I am against hanging him..He needs to have a worse, slower, painful death. Wrap him up in wet rawhide and set him in the sun for a week. or just tie him up with one strap of rawhide around his head so it slowly squeezes his brains in. |

He was sentenced by a court where he had the opportunity to have a defense attorney, cross examine his accusers, and presets witnesses of his own. I support his hanging, though I do not think it will end the battle for Iraq. |

i think that he deserves to die for what he did. also "we" are not the one's hanging him. he was tried by Iraqi's and now Iraqi's will execute him. which is there right because he was convicted of killing just under 200 people |

my sympathy goes out to saddam hussein's family....although he was very inhuman during his dictatoship, he didn't deserved to die the way he did....they could of place him under home arrest for the rest of his life...he was just an old man... |

I think you are exactly right. Unfortunatly if they don't hang him now, the terrorists will think it is because of their threats and they will have a renewed confidence that they run the country. For the record I am against any capital punishment.
I am also curious if our own President is going to have to answer to our war crimes. |
