How do you feel about the Federal Government owning Chrysler?

How do you feel about the Federal Government owning Chrysler?

The Federal Government along with the United Auto Workers Union will own Chrysler, essentially federalizing the company.

What are your opinions on this development?

What is the problem?

Finally, as a tax payer I get to own something that may give me a bit of a return on my investment. I'm not going to get anything from the military, except a request for more guns and bullets.

I know some people will question the competency of the government to run such a company, suggesting it would be better run by the private sector. But the private sector has no special ability. Businesses fail all the time. And isn't it the private sector's ill-conceived and risky practices that drove so many companies into insolvency? Are we better off depending on the private sector to be ethical and "do the right thing?" If the government is so inept, how is it that they are quite effective with the military or is there a concern that that should be delegated to the private sector as well?

Still, I wish it didn't happen.
