I've had this problem for awhile now, i have a criminal background, im trying to get it expunged but i have to wait a year before i can do so. I have lost two jobs due to my background. Im getting tired of my mistakes as a juvenile effecting my future working career. So far I have lost a $16.85/hr. job, which was a blow to me, and I settled with a $12.00/hr. job but then I was let go due to my background. Im not sure what to do because any employer will ask you to submit to a background check. Does anybody have ANY suggestions. Please no ignorant answers ive heard them all.

Be up front and honest about your past before the do the background check, and let them know that you made mistakes in your youth, but you have matured since then and you are ready to make a decent life for yourself (and family if you have one).
It is still up to them to decide if they want to take a chance on you or not. And if they do take that chance, make it worth it to them. Your past will make it more difficult, but just stick with it. There are some companies that will be willing to hire you. |
