How dose one fire an attorney?

I have decided to seek new legal representation. I will have my new attorney contact you regarding obtaining a copy of my file.

The new attorney will normally write a letter to the old attorney indicating that he/she is the new attorney and the old attorney has x number of days to send all the files to him/her. Also, the court must be advised of the new representation. The new attorney will file paperwork about this.
