How is The emergence of the Taliban in Pakistan is different from the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan?

I am writing a 12 page paper on this topic (How The emergence of the Taliban in Pakistan is different from the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan), but I need a specific reason why it is different (for my thesis statement). This is my thesis statement, but it is not complete because there isn't a specific reason as to why it is different. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I don't want your own opinions, I just want a completed thesis statement with a reason at the end)

Afghanistan is a chaotic collection of feudal realms that has been like that since the dawn of time. It's a 30-40 million people tucked up in the hills where their primary source of trouble making is opium production.

Pakistan has a seaport, over 160 million people and about a 100 nuclear warheads. It has a large technologically literate population and when it melts down the potential is quite terrifying. Imagine 9-11 with nuclear weapons.

I have spent years in the region with the military, spent time with every agency one could think of (US and every other countries involved). I am thoroughly versed in the history and culture. As an American I learned most of the languages of the region and can speak most close to a native speaker level.

But you said "I don't want your own opinions". Why would you ask then? Would not opinions such as mine give you insight as to how to truly understand and craft a thesis statement?
