How many trials are there in the united states court system?

Criminal trials are tried until a verdict is found. There are guilty verdicts and not guilty. Not Guilty can not be tried again even if the defendant confesses. There is no statute of limitations on murder. on civil there are different statutes of limitations,meaning after a certain amount of time you can not be tried for a crime.
