Alabama does not have a state minimum wage law, they go by the federal minimum wage which will increase to $7.25/hr. in June of this year. It is currently $6.55/hr.

Most employers will require a 15 year old to have a work permit. There are work restrictions that apply. While school is in session your only allowed to work up to 18/hrs per week. Out of session, (during the summer months,) you can work up to 40/hrs per week. The hours your allowed to work will increase when you turn 16.
