okay well at univeristy the other day i got boxed in by a car like cornering over my space....... i thought i recognized the car as a person that abused one of my friends so i put a note on it saying "learn to park you ignorant person some of us would like to be able to aswell" and drew a rude finger at the bottom of the page..................... my friend had the bright idea to put a chicks number that is a bit of a ***** on the bottom so we could get a laugh if she called her.

turns out the girl wasnt who we thought she was but was actualy a non involved party who had been in a serious accident last year and cant turn her head anymore.

they r both threatening to sue me, one for abuse (i didnt say anything abusive in the letter) and deformation af character by the other girls whos number we put there......

how screwed am I?

Actually, there are no real grounds for civil suit here because there was no damage done and the note fails to meet defamation elements. You are lucky, because that was real a crappy thing to do.

You're not screwed at all. What you did was incredibly immature but it's not illegal to leave a note on a car nor is calling someone ignorant. Even the vulgar drawing doesn't constitute abuse, so you're good. The defamation of character is a joke. Both girls are fine, although pissed at you, and will go about their days as normal, and perhaps the car owner will park properly from now on. There are no damages, so no suit. Well, they can try to sue, but they won't win.

its frivolous. at most you could be cited for harrassment at your school unless you made threats of bodily harm in your note and that would make it an act of terrorism. SO, you should formally apologize and go on your way. Think twice next time before you do something stupid like this. and lay low for a while so they don' t find anything else to pin on you.
