How to obtain guardianship of a minor for school purposes?

I'm 15, and I want to go live with my paternal grandmother in a different state. My parents have no arguments to this as they really aren't fit to be parents anyway.

To be honest, I could careless about guardianship, but for school enrollment purposes I'm pretty sure even though she's my grandmother she would have to get guardianship to fill out those papers. Is there anyway for me to avoid this? Would she be able to enroll me in school and take care of medical needs without guardianship?

If not, how would we go about transferring it?
Additional Details
Also, I live in West Virginia and she lives in South Carolina. Would we have to file for it within my state or hers?

It's easier than you think, a simple temporary guardianship will suffice. Do it in the state that you reside in now (West Virginia) and make notations that it is understood that you will be residing with the grandmother in another state.

Going through the courts is not necessary if it agreed by both your parents and your grandmother.

Have it notarized, and best of luck to you.

Your parents need to turn over parental/guardian rights over to your Grandmother. This will probably require a court hearing.
