Law Enforcement Organizations oppose medical cannabis for non-medical reasons. I think it is because LEO's are looking at a 60%(attributed % of Drug Cartel Pot biz) drop in profit if Cannabis is legalized and that is some real money. They would have to go to the taxpayers (instead of Civil Asset Forfeiture thefts) for all that new fancy equipment they use to terrorize and kill people in their homes in the name of the Drug War. They know that once Medical Cannabis is Re-established in the Pharmacopoeia that full legalization and rational regulation are not far behind. What will we do with all those for profit prisons?
I have a doctor at one of the most prominent medical centers in the country who is considering me for medical cannabis. If Cannabis is reintegrated into the pharmacopoeia it will also affect Drug company profits as people grow their own medicine. If Hemp is reintroduced industrially it will affect the timber industry and its dependents. A simple act will change so much

Treatment of addiction in the Netherlands where marijuana is not yet legal (but integrated into medical community and insurance system) is focused on hard drug addiction. Amsterdam's hotels are booked solid every weekend all year long! Taxation helps balance the budget contributes positively to the community at large. Show me your stats please I would love to see them

My wife is battling ovarian cancer. When she is confined in the hospital, her doctors ENCOURAGE her to go out to our van to smoke her medical pot. They see the amazing benifits she gets from it. It is a BIG part of the reason she is still alive ! |

I dont do drugs or even drink but they should legalize pot. I think it is amazingly ironic that they legalized alcohol, which has a more serious effect than pot because it impairs judgment, but wont legalize pot. How many members of our congress drink alcohol...? |

You can't patent cannabis or THC but I believe they are working on an extracts of cannabis inhaler that is showing promise and doesn't get you high or stoned.
In a right wing 'democracy' the last drug they want to make legal in any respect is a drug that changes the chemical balance of the brain enough and in ways that give people entirely different perspectives on life/lives other than those that they have been systematically brain washed to accept and expect. The powers that be don't care about minor medical costs when a fundamental underpinning of the great profits machine is at stake and they believe their own propaganda so aren't even aware of that.. |

It wouldn't (not help). I find it disgraceful that this country would rather people suffer extraordinary pain, rather than allow them to alleviate it with cannabis. It is torture, pure and simple... something, we're quite good at:(

Holland legalized pot and other drugs, now 80% of all the tax dollars collected in Holland are spent taking care of those burnt out loosers.
Real life where pot has been legalized just shot a very big hole in your theory. Of course you won't admit you were wrong because you like to use dope and are not thinking normally because of the drugs in your system. |

LEOs recognize that cannabis is a 'gateway' drug and highly addictive to some people. Do you think that LEOs don't realize that alcohol is legal too but they can't do a thing about the drunken drivers who cause the gruesome accidents they have to attend to? In other words, yeah, people will always want to get high. So?
By the way, medical cannabis will not reduce health care costs. Who told you that? Jeez. It doesn't reduce pain in every case, only in some, and the corruption and thievery spun off will push the cost into some other sector. Any number of drugs are legal and yet on the black market and again, so what? |
