My argument is that if you commit a crime then you do so knowing what the punishment will be. Therefore, doing so knowingly means that you also knowingly forfeir all rights in relation to that crime.
It is about time the lawyers faced that as well.

Don't get me started. This man has raised his hand against those who have sheltered him. Us the soft old British. He has abused that and so that protection was to be removed and he returned to his own country. I do not see how human rights come into it. He is simply no longer welcome here. If no other Country will have him send him back to whence he came and be done with it.

Perhhaps the politicians should finally get their heads to gether and maake the law stick

OK you've got that off your chest, but why not look to sensible solutions for all criminality. Save money for the taxpayer and at the same time solve the problem of overcrowding in prisons......export them all and not just the immigrant crim. Get a deal going with a poor African state where the labour is cheap, build jails there and export the offenders. It helps the balance of payments of the third world, the budget of the UK, the tax payer and the only person to suffer is the one who shouldn't have been offending in the first place...life's a ***** !!!

I totally agree. Here in the US we have too many weak people that keep us from using proper techniques that would give us more info about other terrorist. I have said all along about the same as you , that heavier penalties should be brought back and kept. Screw human rights for those that kill the innocent that had their right to live taken away. I think we should bring back public execution and torture and, make it pay per view for the world to see. A rope is environmentally friendly and can be reused many times not only for terrorist but, people on death row that we have to feed and house for many years. Put the death row/terrorist prisoners on an old aircraft carrier,and hang them with a buriel at sea!!! All those that oppose the death penalty should be condemed and have their butts kicked!!!! The right to keep and bear arms should never be taken away, and if someone breaks in your home and threatens your life, you should be able to shoot both knee caps out instead of just one while stubby goes to prison. Prisons do not work to reform as much as they do to inform criminals. They have more rights than we do, and they have more available to them. I could go rob a bank and be sentenced to prison and get an education to get a higher paying job where I can learn to commit a bigger crime. In my stay I can watch TV, go to the gym, read many books,and still get stoned!!!!! Bring back the days of public humiliation and shame to detour crime as well. If a person is convicted more than once for child molestation, he should have chester tattoo'd on his forehead,arms,legs,chest,and back!!! No one will give them a job or a place to live, and most after a while would do the world a favor and commit suicide. Too bad that money and popularity gets you out of these things cause Micheal Jackson is a prime example of that!!! And for the criminals that are in on a non viloent charge should be put to work to clean up natural disaster areas like Katrina, do road repair,build houses for the poor, and be cheap labor for factories producing alternative energy. We as a country have millions in prison receiving many benefits, and its time that they earn their keep allot better than just making license plates. Think how many solar panels and wind turbins that could be produced with labor from prisoners. The costs would be less to produce, and would benefit many by bringing the prices down. In order for society to be effective against crime anywhere, society just needs to be smarter than the criminal, and less leniant!!!

HR are a good tool when used in the right context -unfortunately as with many tools they are used for the wrong purposes. As for terrorists I don't understand why after trying to kill us we have to pay for there food and bed? Deport them all, A Guilty verdict is enough to get them on a plane

Everybody needs to have human rights otherwise you could end up with a situation where people can get killed or abused just because they happen to be in prison or the state calls them criminals. Think of what happened during WW2 by the Nazis and that's where you could end up. Or more recently what went on in Iraq in the American run prison and most people thought that was a disgrace.

You have all sorts of people in prison for different things and you do lose all your freedom and loads of your rights but everybody should have basic ones. If you trest people really badly in prison they'll be worse when they get out. Just because your in prison doesn't make you a non person - you're already being punished by being there.

People though who plan to blow up the country though shouldn't be allowed stay ehen they've done their sentence and foreign prisoners should also be sent back after their sentence. It wouldn't be fair if somebody just because they were foreign didn't have to do their time when somebody from here doing the same thing would have to.

Whilst I'm proud to be British I'm truly ashamed of certain pig-ignorant racists who happen to share my nationality. We are a liberal country, which is why we didn't hang Oswald Mosely and his fascist vermin back in 1939. Maybe we should have hung the bigots back then.

This is where the statute on Human rights falls down!I have always believed a person such as a wanted terrorist should be returned to the country who is pursuing them!I believe wanted people should be returned to countries such as Jordon!I notice countries such as France and Belgium who are signatories to the Human Rights extradite wanted alleged terrorists!Why cannot this country!Is this another area where the politicians and judiciary are out of step with the wishes of the population at large!Why cannot the people of Britain have a referendum on this as well!Send them back!

But do you know that they (most of them) become criminals and terrorists because someone ( probably own government or abroad country has stolen their Rights as a human being.

I believe that stolen human rights make criminals and terrorists.

Hunger and disrespect of our own right in life can make even us, criminals and terrorists when we are week.

I am with punishing those whom made criminals by the law but also punish the one responsible of made them terrorists and criminals

The answer to your question 'why do these people still have human rights?' is very simple - because this country has become a joke, a laughing stock. It has become such a push-over it's unbelievable. It's got to the stage where everybody in the world now knows what a pushover we are and just take advantage point blank. The people who have real power in this country are now so afraid of 'appearing' to come across as being politically incorrect that they are neglecting their duties regarding the people they are supposed to be there to serve and protect. What we need is a new leader with real balls and a strong personality who will stick up for the ordinary citizens of this country and not be scared of lawyers who are just out to make money.

It is unjust to take away rights to people who you (keyword here) think broke the law. If you can prove it in a court of law then by all means, do what you want with em'. I don't give a rats *** about terrorists and what happens to them, but we (UK /US) are no better than terrorists ourselves if we torture and kill the innocent along with the guilty.

If you are proven to be a killer you have taken away another persons right to breathe air and live. Justice would be that the killer would have his right taken away to breathe air. Human rights is a croc, justice is what is to be strived for.
