If I was a BP employee, I would just quit or make it look like I was trying. What incentive does BP have to actually succeed in capping the oil spill? If the US is threatening to squash your company, how can you be motivated to correct the problem?
The right approach would be for a reward to any organization who could come up with the most feasible solution, and it's not going to be BP.

You're right. If Obama and his mouthpieces would get out of the way or provide some material support where it's needed (like letting Louisiana build their sandbars to keep the oil out of the delta), they'd be a lot more helpful. |
