My personal opinion is to leave it as karma may come back and bite you.

Legally you have no ties to the maintenance of the website as it was not part of your job description. But they may not give you a good work reference if you decide to take it down or have it crash.

If you madeit on school time, then it is not yours to take down. Don't forget possible civil as well as criminal liabilities. Not to mention it will screw you when applying for new work.

If it's for the school, then no, it doesn't belong to you, you must leave it up.

No, that could actually land you in prison. Now I am frustrated but intrigued by the apparent work of some laid off Yahoo! coder who seems to have left a little time bomb that causes Yahoo!Answers to spit out copious copies of the same "Your answer has been chosen as Best Answer" e-mails each holiday period.

Well that depends. Was it something you did on your own time for for free, or was it part of your job. If it was a freebie then you can take it down if you want, or charge them for it. If it was a job you had to do then you have to leave it

I would say no - was that part of your job description to build the site? It's now company property. If you take it down, you can face ramifications.
