There will be no charge to play just that they have a drink. The prize will be a dinner for two and a gift card. Is this illegal in the state of California and could you show me where you got your information. Thanks

You really need to consult with an attorney who specializes in small businesses before you go forward with this plan. I am not an expert in the area, but I think it very likely that this idea would run afoul of state gambling and liquor laws, as well as local business licensing and zoning ordinances. |

California has strict laws as to running a poker room...Since it is legal, you need to make sure you do it legal. Check out the law, do it right and you will not have a problem ... |

Check the phone book or online. There are many business's out there that do this sort of thing for you. They will come in with tables and chips and run the entire thing for you for a fee. Many often give customers bonus chips for buying more food or drinks. |

I know it is legal mumbo jumbo but read it over carefully. You will need to apply for a Gaming License as well. If you can consult with an attorney before proceding then do so. You don't want to get a hefty fine because you missed something. |
