His trial is in 3 weeks and I got subpeonaed. We have been split since the incident almost 1 1/2 yrs ago. I want to know what to expect at the trial. How does it all work? He will not plea bargain to the the misdemeanor property damage charge. He wants to be cleared of all charges. What should I expect the process to be like?

The prosecutor will ask you some questions, he/she will be friendly and the questions will be factual and some may be personal and hard for you to answer. It's ok to cry, and it's ok to take your time answering them.
Then the defense will ask you questions. The defense attorney will be nice, but his questions will try to find flaws in your story. He may try to shift the blame to you, or try to make you look dishonest. He will try to break you basically, but in a nice way.
Then it's over.
I wish you the best of luck. I am proud of you for going to court, even though you had to be subpena'ed. Men who commit domestic abuse deserve to be punished and you don't deserve to be abused. Remember that your testimony will help to protect yourself and other women from pain and abuse.
Tell the truth, be sincere and try to speak with some firmness to show that your not intimidated by him, and that your telling the truth. |

You can either tell the truth or lie. Depending on how much this guy really hurt you. Make sure he's not the type of guy that may seek revenge if you do testify against him, because he will eventually get out or may have Friends. I'm so sorry for you, this has to be a stressful situation, only you can determine the outcome. |
