Illegal immigration is the least of our worries.
People are making more of undocumented Latino workers than they are criminals getting off easy because our prisons are full and our government has itself mired down neck-deep in war.
The media is the culprit. They are sensationalizing issues within our own borders and their use of the war to manipulate the general public is more than despicable.
I am literate and a fluent speaker of Spanish. Some of my best friends are Latino. They are here like you and they have families to support and they feel strongly that is important to make a better life for their children.
The media doesn't think that aspect of illegal immigration is worth covering.
I think that is tragic. Americans have been led to believe that what they hear from the Media is the gospel truth. Most people that have issues with Latinos don't know any personally. I do...
I know a lot of you. Mexicans, Ecuadorians, Guatemalans, Salvadorians, Venezuelans and so on. I know first hand how many Latinos come here because they have no other alternative.
People need things and things cost money.
So you go ahead and soldier on and don't let this issue distract you from your goals.

I respect you for wanting to make a better life. However that being said you are in violation of the laws of the USA. You can apply for citizenship, having lived here for 12 years it could be granted. If not then you should seek other avenues to be in the country legally. You employer is also at risk since you are working illegally for them. I'm surpirised that you have not been asked to produce the proper documents for the college that you attend as well. |

You are here illegally, in violation of federal law. You have done an injustice to some law abiding Ecuadorian who is attempting to enter the U.S.A. legally. If you should earn your degree in computer technology, you will no doubt try to work in the U.S.A., which would constitute another violation of the law, and could cause your employer to go to prison or pay a huge fine, IF the laws are enforced! If you have any morals or patriotic feelings for your home country,Ecuador, you will go home, do what you can to help the businesses or government of Ecuador. Then, if you want to come to OUR country, the U.S.A., get in line, comply with our laws, and do it legally. When you state that , "I am fighting just as hard as anybody here", for what or against what are you fighting? |

You will need an immigration attorney to figure this one out. My ex-sister-in-law and her husband received amnesty after they had been here for several years. They are citizens now. They used an immigration lawyer. |

You should find some legal aid, talk to someone who can help you with this situation! My son in law has been in your shoes for over 7 years now, he and my daughter and their little girl are on their way right now to Mexico for his interview with a judge there. He will be told if he has to stay there a long time , or if he can come back here with his family and become a legal citizen of the US. They have been working on his papers and going through this for the nearly 4 years they have been married. It will be worth it to you to get this started,
do it as soon as possible, at least it will be better than going to jail and being deported. Keep studying hard and working hard... that is what makes you stand out in the crowd! You will go far and do great things if you just keep going and don't give up! Good luck amigo! |

Yes i do believe you should go back to ecuador and then if you decide to come back here do it legally i am glad you dont qualify for financial aid i am a naturally born american citizen and i didnt qualify for crap in financial aid, you barely mention the fact that you are a criminal and in my opinion if you are a criminal and you apply for citizenship then you should be flat out denied. you are trying to justify to people that have been born and riased here and have seen cities have to bend over backwards to help illegal immigrants to go to school and then get it thrown in thier face. Screw you man i hope you go back to ecuador and stay there yeah my family immigrated to america over a hundred years ago and it was done legally and all the crap that they had to go through and you try telling me that i am wrong for saying you need to go back to your country and if you come back here legally then you would be welcome but do it legally what part of illegal dont you understand |

even though u are an illegal immigrant, i respect you and all other illegal immigrants because they have to work the jobs nobody wants and work extra hard to make enough money. maybe this doesnt go for all illegal immigrant but from what i see and hear from people alot of them are pulling more weight than the average american. |

You present the side of the argument that no one wants to hear friend. I think most immigrants, illegal or otherwise, are just like you. It's just that the "face" of the illegal immigrant has become that of someone who milks the system, which is a shame.
We need to remember the fact that we are all immigrants. This land is meant to belong to no one, and a world without borders would probably solve many a problem. Once governments are formed they and it's people become corrupted and brainwashed and then all of it goes to hell.
Just do the best you can friend. Make a difference in this world and then it won't matter where you're from, because no matter what we all come from the same place to begin with. |

I could care less whether or not you are an illegal as long as you aren't being paid below minimum wage or being paid less for being an illegal. When the employer pays illegals below minimum wage or less than the norm of someone legal it affects not only legals but also other illegals as to how they are abused by being denied a job for someone cheaper.
Basically, if anyone is at fault it is employers. |
