I am being sued by a person in Michigan and he has law knowledge and knows how to file all of the paperwork and file answers in legal terms. What is the cheapest way to handle this ? Can I get help from some lawyers ...

Do you have an actual defense to the complaint? If you don't, do nothing and he'll get a default judgment against you. If you actually have a defense, you need a lawyer |

Your cheapest way out is about 1500 dollars in attorney fees. Dude if he lawyered up, trust me, there is no cheep methods, get an attorney as soon as possible and fight for every dollar and every quarter nickle and dime. Get the attorney best in what field your getting sued for. Accidents, Assults, etc. hire them specialized, and you will save lots of doe. but if not, it was nice knowing you! |

You can settle out of court to at least control some of it, and there's a chance it will be cheaper. I'm assuming, however, you've already attempted it. If that's the case, then you really have no option but to lawyer up and be prepared to spend at least $1500-2000 whether you want to or not, even with no judgement against you. |

civil matters don't involve lawyers... Not to mention small claims court... Of it takes a bit more information to know what you are being sued for. |
