Your company, like almost every other company, probably has a policy to deal with such discrimination. You may choose, and I would suggest, to go through official channels to report your immediate supervisor before anything else. Make sure to keep a record of all of this activity including what is said to you by those you are reporting to and the outcome of the reporting process.

If nothing changes or things worsen, I would immediately find new employment and quit as soon as possible. Make sure to keep track of every incident of discrimination with dates and times. If you are forced to leave this job, I would file suit against your company and the manager. Contact the ACLU or your local labor department for more information.

Keep a record of the abuse and give a copy to a senior manager.

If no action is taken and you leave as a result this is what is called constructive dismissal. If it is on the grounds of racism it is automatically unfair.

It is unlawful for your manager to act in this way. It is either direct or indirect discrimination or both.This is contrary to the Race Relations Act.

Go to the Commission for Racial Equality who will probably take the case up for you.

make a diary of everything that is said to you,if there are any other peeps getting abuse tell them to do same wen you have enough evidence take it to the top boss,if they dont sort it go see a solicitor.

If you were a true Brit, you would know that the first asians that came to the UK was by force under the British Empire. Again, this proves that the uneducated Brits are the racist ones.

Anyway, back to your question, you shouldn't have to live like this. So what I suggest is that you make a complaint, and if your work place doesn't take action, then take legal action.

Well, first of all you need to be sure she is being racist, rather then just rude or bad mannered.

Working in a "retail store" as you describe it often means having to work on the tills. I get the impression you haven't been there long, so as such you can expect to get the boring mundane jobs. Thats how life works.

If you have been there a long time and you are still being given mundane tasks to do, when obviously you are more experienced and should be given more responsabilties then I should speak to her and express your concerns in a manner which you both agree is private and confidential.

If nothing changes, write to the companys head office, outling your position, and the steps you have taken to remedy the situation.

In regards to the lady she called "ping pong", I'm finding it hard to see how thats offensive. I dash around at work like a blue **** fly and other people can sit there and do nothing, and I suppose I get called names like "ping pong" as I'm back and forth, back and forth all day long but thats how I like it, I like to be busy, your friend may be the same. Or maybe there is some other innocent explanation as to why she has been called this.

Please don't assume that cause the people she talks to are white that this behaviour is racist. I find it hard to believe nobody challenges her if she is being racist. I think she is being a snidey little woman, rather then racist. Don't take it to heart.

Look at how the CRE can help you and get something done about this woman! But I have to just say, get yourself into a union - USDAW the shopworkers union has really got itself organised in recent years, and the GMB have a strong shopworkers section (mainly with Asda though). If you were in a union they would help you take this on...that is, assuming you're not, and if you are then you now know to go to them too.

I have no idea what this 'aclu' is - I'm guessing an American thing but sugar, ignore what these people are saying because it's not relevant here in the UK. Follow my suggestions set out above and stop this so-called line manager with her bullying and racist methods.

Run, don't walk, to report this woman to her supervisor(s). And take others with you whom she has discriinated against. If you can get several to back you up, hopefully you'll all keep your jobs. If not, you've got a great federal law suit against her and the company.

You hear this time and time again you should take this further but to be honest unless you kick up a real big fuss about it things won't change with the present way Muslims are treated things are difficult.

This is just my personal opinion on what i would do i would have had my crew waiting for the ***** when she Left work along time ago.

The way i see it if the old racist hag can give it i would want to see her take it to.x

Well, first off you need to start documenting these instances. For about a month, every time she says something that is racist, write down the day, time and exactly what was said. Then, go to her supervisor, or whoever is over her at work and tell them what has been going on. Let that person handle it from there.

if she is not your general manager than go to the gn (the highest ranked manager in the store) if she is the highest ranked, call corporate, i am sure there are clauses and such in any contract or work paper work you signed prior to your start date or on your start date. there is always something you can do but just for politics sake, dont say something directly to her let her superior reprimand her. and make sure you tell your highest manager in confidence so that this racist manager is not able to reprimand you for being honest and forth right.

the only racist think i can see she don't was call the Chinese girl ping pong so you have to work on a till so get over it your lucky to have a job how do you know the white people like the jobs they are given?me personally would rather sit on my backside at shove things through a scanner and get paid for it that's easy work why is it any time a person of an ethnic background don't like a job or being told something they don't like they pull the race card?
