everybody makes mistake, i think you shouldn't say anythign unless they ask, so if they ask, don't be too afraid about it.

it may not ruin your chances, i mean that was so long ago 5-6 years ago, things have changed.

1. If it asks on the application tell the truth. Everything that you put on the application will get cross referenced with interviews, background investigations, references, relatives, educational, and some states DO use polygraph and have a criminal investigator that you might interview with. Everything that you tell them and write down is cross referenced and they will look for inconsistencies. Tell the truth if you did it and it is asked then tell them;. If you lie or they think you are lying its a 200% guarnateed you are not going to get a job with the agency.
alot of people have tried some type of drug. I know police officers that have even had DUI's. Just be honest.

There is no such thing as a secret that will not come to the light of day.
Being open and honest, you will be 'assessed' and you may or may not be successful.
If you try to hide it, you may just find your dishonesty will one day come back and bite you big time.

If you only did it once, and your were not arrested (or caught with it) then they have no proof that you did. Good rule of thumb, if they don't ask you any specific details, don't give them any. I'm not saying to lie, but, don't volunteer any information.

they are looking at the polygraph test to show that u wont lie. i bet so many want to be cops have done drugs growing up, its part of growing up, just be honest that uve done it, but if u get a chance to explain say u tried it but never did it again and would never do it again. good luck

i know someone that told the truth and made it through and he did it in college. i dont know much more detail - just that hes a pr*ck now. try to keep your cool when you become a cop and remember not everyone is the bad guy. he busts up college parties now...like he didnt throw them back then.

No as long as you didnt' get arrested for it cause then that would be a felony and you wouldn't be able to become a cop. As long as it's in the past and you didn't get arrested for it, you should be fine.

Always lie for and interview. Unless you were charged and its on your record obviously. You will never get a job if you tell them you did drugs.
