I filed a complaint with the BBB and they showed my boss the papers...?

my boss then fired me because of it because the business i put a legitimate complaint towards is a client...they even showed him the papers they got from the BBB...they want me to drop it and have used my work as a threat....what can i do?

i am a painter, this is a business that i got service from, how was i supposed to know that we would paint for them in the future?

Should never have taken that complaint to the BBB in the first place,

I'd get a lawyer. Especially since I can't tell if you got fired or just threatened.

The BBB has to contact the party that is complained against to allow them the option of resloving the complaint. I have experience with this.

Filing with the BBB probably wasn't your best option. Obviously, you are in a bad situation at work if you went as far as to file a complaint with the BBB. Maybe consider another job? Or report your boss to your state employment authority.

The BBB does not report anonymously, they are an organization designed to mediate disputes between customers and businesses.

Although you may have had a legitimate complaint, the BBB probably wasn't your best option. If you take issue with a practice of one of your clients, take it up with your superior.
